I was wondering if I should get a set of tires on eBay. They are the 235/35 19" size of the Yokohama AVS Sport. Do you think these would work on a 19" wheel? laughing

OH you didn't know
As long as you get the correct offset wheel they should fit fine. How much for tires? How good are they? You will have to drop some $$$ eek! for some 19' wheels.

Great deal on the tires, I have the same size but in Toyo T1-S directionals form(below).

and http://www.ri-sho.com/tl-s/21.jpg

The rims themselves are not that expensive if you shop like a the avg. SHO owner, which is cheap, best deal around, and it doesnt matter if there used or knockoffs. I personally have to have them new and quality brand(not no-name) like the 3piece 19x8 Lowen Hart BR5's on my TL-S, retail is $900each in silver, of course if you know me, you know I didnt pay that much wink :)

I myslef plan on going with 19's for my SHO pretty soon, just because of how much I realized I need them after I installed the 19's on the TL-S.

RI, you have some nice looking wheels there. I just wish you would go for function (ie. lightweight) as well as style.

I don't know what your 19's must weigh, but the 18's are over 26 lbs each...ack! As for the price, you have to pay to play, I understand that...as I am not the average SHO owner. wink

How long until you call Comptech?

Hey goldpockets, I've got a thing or two I'd love to do to my car if you ever get some dough burning a hole in your pocket. I'd still love to know what you do for a living. Until I find out, I fantasize it as something along the lines of Kingpin; a big pimping drug lord with a good front business wink . Or, maybe you're a movie exec or a Hollwood star. Your last name wouldn't happen to be Priestly or Giambi would it? :p

$245 per wheel is a pretty good price for those wheels.

"Goldpockets" may just be a smart buyer or just lucky. I have received some really great deals on things for my SHO ex:$10.00 per tire for my Dunlops and less than $50.00 per wheel.

Jim, a set of 19s on your car means kiss traction goodbye. I used to wish for a set of 16 inch slicers and the fatest, highest profile, meatiest wheels I could find. On 17 inch wheels and Bridgestone S02 PPs (which were new and very, very good tires), traction was a major issue. And you will have more power than the Hulk.............traction with 19s just aint gonna happen. :D

re: Occupations..........'d love to own something that would just blow peoples minds. Something so basic....like.......hmmmmm......

Random person: What do you do for a living?

Oz: I own salt.

Random person: ????

Oz: yes, all of it.

Too little sidewall flex? Not good.

Can anyone steer me to decent looking lightweight wheels that are wider than the RPM's 7 inches. You have to go to 19" just to get to 7.5" width.

Hey kaotic, wanna sell your GT1s?? cry

My wheels are 18x7.5" I got them off ebay (for a good deal, like the normal SHO owner wink ).

Mine are also sold here:
http://www.victoriatire.com Along with a lot of other 18x7.5+ thumb

Unless they are lightweight, forget it. The Centerline RPMs in 19x7.5 are only 15lbs and with tires are probably identical in weight to the stock setup. I've already ordered 2 sets of wheels from Victoria. They are great, however they don't have any lightweight wheels that fit the SHO. I love the MOMO Tuners but at something like 25-30lbs per wheel, ugh!

There are precious few wheels that are lightweight. There are fewer that don't cost an arm and a leg. And then you have to find those that fit the SHO. headbang cuss rant

Driving a set of 17x8" MOMO Sports on the SHO was like adding a person in the car.

I believe it was Herman who showed up to the last BaySHO meet with some really sweet wheels. I believe they were 17" Centerline forged aluminum wheels, or something like that. He said that they were very expensive, but they were noticeably light (I think they're lighter than Slicers). Oh, and they were really friggin sweet looking wheels.

Just saw the post now, with my TL-S the weight wont matter it'll have a boosted friend pretty soon to help accel it :D . For my SHO I am already looking at custom TD's in gunmetal at less than 19lbs each in 19x8.5 size.

Those are still too heavy to me. My next rims will be 11 lbs, with a load rating of 790 kg per wheel. Don at TD told me that even their new wheel will come in at 15 lbs.

Also, RI you are missing my point about getting 19's. I have plenty "funds" to afford anything out there (confirming the fact of not being the average SHO owner) however just because I do doesn't mean that I like 19'' wheels. I know that you do and respect your decision but don't think that I am "scrimping" just because I don't go to a larger size. It is my preferance.

I'll take a 9 lb. 16'' or an 11 lb. 17 anyday over even the likes of the now $1100 each HRE 8 series. It's a shame when they even weigh in the neighborhood of 17 lbs for all that money.

Well, Centerlines weighing in at 15lbs in 19x7.5 sounds good. Unfortunately, 25lbs per tire for 235/35 19 Yokohama Sports doesn't. Oh, well, it's still not too bad for a s/c SHO.
