At first had no complaints about my clutch, except that it grabs almost at the very end of the clutch pedal. I started to notice a slipping in between sometimes 3 and 4 grand, since my clutch was broken in i downshifted nicely and got on it, guess what? In third under close to WOT the clutch slips pretty good. Never went WOT but close to and brought it to around 5 grand in 1st and 2nd with out slipping, atleast as far as i could tell.

So i parked it. After that i did some reading and come to find out theres a certain way to put the cable on the arm, and if you just muscle it on you'll break what i believe is called the quadrant. I dont remember 100% sure, but i think i just muscled the cable on. Does that Guarantee the quadrant is broke? So i tried to adjust it how described in the searches i did but i heard or felt no click. How audible is it? I'll try again when i get home tonight. Hopefully me not adjusting the cable is my prob, if not its time to go in again, and i will probably pick up a running 3.2 for 100 bucks to put in it. I'm guessing its the adjustment because the clutch grabs when you damn near off the pedal.

So in short:

How can you tell if the quadrant is working properly? As i dont remember if i did do it the right way or not, so it may not be clicking because its already done, and the clutch is just slipping from improper installation.

How audible is the click?

If i did just muscle the cable on, does that mean i maybe broke the quadrant or absolutely did?

If you dont think my problem is clutch adjustment, Any ideas of where to look?

Thanks guys.

you probably have it over adjusted. if the clutch engages too high and it slips its not gripping enough.

your saying that its grinding 3rd to 4th though? did you just have the clutch done?

Thing is i dont think its over adjusted, as i dont think i went through the proper steps when installing the cable.

It isnt grinding in 3rd of 4th, that would be a trans issue. The problem i have is it the clutch is slipping in 3rd gear, and certain rpms in others, what it comes down to is the clutch is slipping. Thanks for your imput

sorry i read that wrong. 3 to 4 grand.

Reset the cable. put a wrench under the pedal to hold it up and push the quadrant back alittle bit to undo the adjustment that has been made. afterwards take the wrench out and push the clutch down once and then pull up on the pedal. you should definitel hear the click then because you made slack in the cable by pushing the quadrant back. if there was no click your quadrant's screwed. if there is a click go out and see if your clutch still engages high and slips.
