I recently changed the springs struts stut bearings front brakes and rotors. Ford says the rotors are the same for all Taurus. Is this correct? I am having a problem with the pad hitting the hat of the rotor. Then sometimes I get a shake in the front end that gets worse when you atep on the brakes. Any ideas? Thanks

We need a little more info about your car to help you out. Year would be helpful.

It sounds like you have warped rotors for starters. You want to check that the bracket is properly mounted as it should not hit the hat on the rotor at any time.

Either way, get it fixed promptly. The braking system is nothing to take chances with.

I would have to say that I'm 95% sure it's your tie rods. Just jack up the car and see if there's any free play of the tire. Bad tie rods will lead to a shortened life of your tires by eating away the tread. You really need to check it out because bad tie rods tend to shake the front end worse when the brakes are applied. The reason for the shake is because you tire is basically walking itself and are loose and wobbling.
