So the only real thing left wrong with my car is the brakes. I knew both rear brake lines needed changing and suspected the master cylinder because when the engine was out, it looked like brake fluid had been comming out of the booster. So today I put on new rear brake lines and a reman master cylinder. The new master cyl came with a bleeding kit and I bled it completely until no bubbles were comming out.

When I pulled off the old master cyl, the booster was full of brake fluid, so I got that all out before putting on the new one. I bled all four corners and took it for a drive. I dont think they are much better. Pedal goes down a few inches and then I feel it stiffin up, but the brakes are just not grabbng hard enough. When I got home I checked all the rotors and they were all hot. So all four are getting line pressure.

I remembered seeing something on here about needing to have the ABS module bled and it requires a special tool. Could that be my problem?

Please help. I cant go fast if I cant stop.

check for residual fluid in the booster. you can in effect bleed the ABS by making a few ABS stops. do it on dirt or grass, not on pavement.
are the rotors hot, or just warm? check for dragging, raise a wheel and see if it releases when the brakes release.

Well there was fluid in the booster, but I got it all out before I put on the new master cyl. The rotors were warm. All 4 of them about the same. I could touch them but only for a few seconds. I went on a long enough drive that if one was draging, it would have been noticably hotter than the others. The nearest dirt road is a few miles away, and I dont know if I trust the brakes for that long of a drive. Maybe I should just take it in and have it done.
