hood difference? i just picked up a plastic plus hood from a 91, anyone know if this hood will fit on a 92 second gen? i think iw would look good but don't know if it will actually fit. if it dosent work i'll be selling it for cheap if anyone is interested.

No it will not fit on the Gen 2 SHO.

I know for a fact that the gen1 hood will not fit on a gen2. I tried to put my plus hood on my sable. The hinges line up, the struts line up, it even latches, but, it needs to be about 2 inches longer. You can look down on the hood, and see the tops of the headlights and the black bracket that holds them.

thanks guys i measured it and saw what you meant, the sides are long enough but it is the center that is a couple inches too short. i want $100 for it if anyone wants it.

what color is it? if its red I may be interested. If u'r handy with fiberglass just add 1.5 inches at the center & taper it down to zero. You can make a mold off the stock one, lay up a piece & bond it on. I am going to do it with a spare white plus hood for my 95.

the hood is white...... that is actually a darn good idea, especially since the front of the hood has two small blemishes and needs work anyways, i know the hoods are plastic would the fiberglass bond to the plastic ok? I may decide to do this and i could take step by step pics to show you guys.

Well, we started with the plus hood conversion so it will fit, and look facroty on my 92. I like looking out the windsheild and seeing that buldge... it should look great when its done. We are making a mold of the front of the second gen hood and bond it onto the plus hood. I'll be taking pics of the progress.

so..... how many people would be interested in having a plus hood for their second gen? in our process of modding the hood we are making a mold, so many more can be made......
