I was wondering if anyone had any experience with installing these I have a pretty good idea, but if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. Oh also it's going on a 1991 SHO plus so its got the fiberglass hood and I'd really hate to mess up my hood by drilling in the wrong spot thanks in advance for any help

I have a relocation kit on my plus hood, and it is different than that one.
Mine does not require drilling. There are 2 plates that bolt to the stock hood hinges, and 2 small plates that bolt to the inner fender.

Where did you get it?

I have one of these kits that I purchased 10 plus years ago. If you do a search you should find the guy who made them. I think his name is Adam Varney but not completely sure.

I got it with 1993 SHO I bought some years ago, I wanted to keep it but ended up using it for parts.

Hey 1320n2oSHO, I found the directions for this kit. If you have a fax number available I can send it to you.

Until I read here that someone has one, I believed that the relocated strut kit was not recommended for the fiberglass hood.

In the super-cold weather, the shocks do not work so well.

I have a Mustang with a hood prop rod, and although it is an unsophisticated system, I have never felt it was a burden to use. It is the hands-down best lightweight alternative.

Back to the original thread; Who currently makes/markets a strut relocation kit for the Plus hoods?

Bump, I've been thinking about this for my 91 but I read on SHOsource that it won't work on the plus hood. Brian, can you post pics of yours? Is there a specific kit for the plus hood?

I have what I thought was the Fiberglass hood relocation kit from Adam that I bought years ago. I tried installing it on a couple of occasions and it just won't work. The strut will not fit in the channel on both outer edges of the hood. I also tried a custom kit that someone make for a 95, and that will not work either. I got rid of my relocation kit for the non-plus hoods that I got from Adam at the same time, so I can't compare the two.

So, in short, I second what Chad said. I need pictures and specifics of how anyone got it to work with a plus hood! Thanks!
