cracked my front headlight and put a nice big dent in the front fender. I got a question though, how much would the fender cost, and the headlight I think is 250$? I'm wondering because if it's over 500$ in damages, I think i'll just pocked the cash and run up to a junkyard for replacements.

I'm wondering just how much it will be, i hit a telephone pole guidewire a year and a week ago, and did 2700$ in damage, but that was the front bumper, and fender, which seems ridiculously high, but if i got 1000$ in damages this time around (i sure dont think I do - but idk where the 2700$ came from - maybe labor) - then I am gonna go fix it myself.

If you can find a fender in good shape and in the correct color (shouldn't be to hard) it would be much cheaper than a new replacment plus paint.

I've got the Mitchell's estimating software on my laptop. Post a pict and I'll give you what an insurance company would say it would cost to fix, and what it will really cost in the real world.

i dont expect a replacement fender to be expensive if i find it, i'm wondering how much a new one would cost, because that's what my insurance figures in, (ex 250$ for a headlight, i'm guessing it'll be like 300-400 for a fender)

i'll get that pick in a minute anonymous

Fender MSRP is $192.38 (just fender) but they will probably charge at least that much to paint it plus labor to remove and replace all the parts

Use the money to finally weld your cams Roland. Just pick up another fender, in decent shape, along with a headlight and replace them.

God I need to get some sleep.

no the ****er ran off. It was the most idiotic thing I've ever seen, I'm leaving my friends house (who owns a WW2 Enfield rifle and SKS) - and i got my brights on, driving about 40mph. I see this deer about 500 feet ahead in the middle of the road walking across, so I turn off my brights and slow down (never thought to honk, first time i've ever come across a deer that didnt run at first sight).

I get within about 50 feet, travelling at 10-15mph, and the deer is standing on the left side of the road, lookin away from me, so I figure, ok i just cruise on by. Well no, at the last second he turns around completely and runs to the other side of the road, except then he see's me, and stops, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. He looks straight like he knows he's been spotted but wont look at me, so BUMP, I'm on freshly layed gravel, no swerving, and I didnt expect him to stop so I didnt hit the brakes until the last second. The guy doesnt even fall over, he just gets pushed back a little, and then he snaps the glare at me like "WTF WAS THAT FOR?!!!" and then runs off towards my friends back yard. I immediately call him and tell him to grab his SKS an go find a deer that's got an imprint of a red taurus on his butt.

Deer season started that same day I believe. If everyone who was hit by a deer spent 300$ for a shotgun or rifle (a lot less than car repairs) and went hunting I think this wouldnt be so common. I talked to the auto body shop and they said they are booked solid with deer accidents so I doubt they will miss me if I decide to do it myself (plus I dont mind driving with the damage, it's like somebody hit my car with a baseball).
