Hi Guys,

I was on a bumpy road, when suddenly my "anti-lock" light came on, my A/C went off, and the tach reads 1000rpm steady. When I try to start her up, she acts like the battery is low, but once she starts she runs fine except for the light, A/C, etc... What came lose and where? Any help greatly appreciated.

P.S. It's a '94 SHO 3.2L

check the starter power cable. I had the bolt work loose on mine and it acted like that.

Yes it made sense, I jacked up the car and all nuts and bolts (wiring, and other) were tight, no frayed wires, or loose connections. I'm checking all plugs and harnesses, and so far I can't find any thing out of wack.

all the anti-lock brake stuff is grounded on the front drivers side section of the frame (directly ahead of the ABS computer). There ought to be two of them, side by side; go at them with a wire brush and a tighten them down with a socket just to make sure.
Also, check the ground connection that does the frame to the battery. they use crappy self tapping screws that have a tendency to get corroded. You'll do you car a good service by finding a good, clean connection for it, and using a big ol' stainless steel bolt with a nut, washers, AND lockwashers for it.
If you promise that all the connections are clean and tight, it might just be time for new battery cables :-(

For the a/c, check the electrical connector on the compressor.

Run the codes for the ABS and find out what the problem is. Be sure to use the ABS connector and not the ECC connector.

As for the rpms, disconnect the battery then reconnect it. After this, reset the idle and see if that fixes the idle issue.

Edit: Run the codes before you disconnect the battery, just in case.

First, I would like to thank everyone for their help. You all had very logical and reasonable suggestions. As it turns out, the bump had nothing at all to do with anything, the alternator went out and killed the battery. I was not alerted to this by the charge indicator light because it too was out. The A/C cut out due to lack ov voltage, and the "anti-lock" light came on for the same reason.

Thanks again for all your help :thumb:
