HIGH BEAMS??

hey, on my 93' atx.....if i pull back on the lever to put the highbeams on the high beams go on...but they go off when i let go......its like i can pull the lever back but it doesnt lock into place 4 the high beams to stay on...any suggestions what it could be??

Push it forward to lock the highbeams on. Pulling it is momentary for 'flash-to-pass' (otherwise known as get out of my way you blue-haired fool going 45 in a 65 zone in the passing lane with your blinker on).
