Someone on here said to keep posting with updates, so here ya go. I would say I'm about 75% done with the project. The housings are almost done, and I had to buy a new header panel to modify it for the HID's to fit in there (which is done). But I still have 2 more important (and pretty tough) things to do, the whole wiring harness, and aiming properly.

Anyway, here are some pics of the housings:

These two are set in the car, so you can get an idea on how it will look when installed.

Nice project. I need to see how the rest of the front goes together to get an idea of how they will look with the car. Everything looks good so far. Is the shell the original housing?

luigisho: Yeah, I agree, hard to tell how the whole thing will look. So I threw the grill and the sidemarker back on, just to get a feel for the whole package. See pics below. The shell is the original housing, but GREATLY modified.

RoadWarrior: Yep, the dual projectors looked cool and all, but I dropped one of them on the ground and broke it, so then I decided I had to go xenon, and I decided while I was going xenon, I might as well go Bi-xenon! Yeah, I saw your post in the lighting forum, that's too bad about those cougar lights.

what kind of light setup do the new cougars have?
My dad has a 00, but I didn't think they were HID, just projection beam halogens..
I had a spare lamp assy. for it, but sold it recently for 100 bucks.

I like it, It will be a nice improvement over the stock lights for sure
In looks, I think it will look much nicer.

In lighting performance, it will be about 300 million times better. But really, I never knew how badly the gen 1 lights were designed until now.

they're just projectors, but they're very close to the D2S design used in BMW's that it looked like. I was gonna do the halogen setup instead of HID's since I can't afford HID's wink I need to find me another set of cougar lights :)

Looks good, 2 questions:

1. Are these going to be available as a group buy?

2. In the pictures where you had them installed they looked good, but seemed to need to be fitting slightly better, will they be retrofitted almost exact when done?

1. Yeah right! oh_my If you can give me about $1500 for each set, and about 1 extra day per week to work on them. Seriously, there is no way one could mass produce these, unless I owned a factory. These have taken me about 4 months of work, and the cost would be tremendous. More like a 1 off custom job.
2. Yeah, they will fit in much, much better. I didn't even have them insalled in the pics. I just set them in there, and didn't even screw them in.

jasonty: I'm working on a website, that has instructions and a parts list. It should be done in 2-3 weeks.
