Couldn't find this answer in searching, I may have missed it.

I just installed some red LED tails and noticed that the lamp out light comes on when I hit my brakes with the lights on and/or also as I use the right turn signal. Doesn't come on when I use the left turn signal. This is after the grote flasher is installed.

Anyone come up with a fix for this or know why this is doing that?

step 1: unhook glove box all the way

step 2: curl fingers around top opening lip

step 3: find lamp out module

step 4: disconnect it

step 5: ?????

step 6: no more bulb out lamp.

What I did is trace the wires for it (don't know off the top of my head, can look up later) to disable just the brake and turn signal inputs, leaving the headlamps, etc. alone.

I would imagine its looking for a voltage drop? Maybe figure out what that load difference is, and add a resistor to the circuit past the light itself... otherwise I'd think you'd dim it..

I love the LED taillights. They're friggin' awesome, and brighter than all get-out. A few words of caution, should you decide to get some, though:

Nite-shades will just make it look weird when lit. And not in a good way. I would recommend some other method of darkening the lens should you decide to do so.

They leak. Some of them leak in the seam between the two halves, requiring large amounts of RTV. Some of them actually leak where the plug goes. That took ages to figure out, and a lot of frustration; they look really bad with water pooled up at the bottom of the lens.

Other than that, install is pretty straight forward. For whatever reason, my '94 never showed the lamp out with them on. However, I'm beginning to think it never worked in the first place. My wife's 95 threw all sorts of lamp out warnings, but that's because that car has HID lamps and LED turn signals and parking lamps. It's insane.

It's the only one I can find right now. I have other pictures, but those are of the clear version.
