we was talkin while i was at the shop the other about nixing the DI system altogether and just running a normal fuel system. well i thunk a thought today whilst fixing my rod shifter...there's no reason the N/A 3.5's heads wouldn't be a direct swap, and with a lil creative tuning the DI system would be no more. granted, this won't really be necessary for most cars, but for those who don't care about a warranty and wanna try to get into the "stupid power" realm, this might be just what the doctor ordered. any thoughts?

I'm pretty sure the Mazdaspeed 3 guy's have the same issues with maxing out the Fuel Pump of there DI system. IIRC, They just got a few companies to come up with a new unit, costing in the area of 500 bucks.

I do the website and online sales and am not as technical as others here, but I'm not sure it would work, especially with the OEM computer. It could never understand a traditional injector, and only handles high pressure inputs. It would assume horrible things were wrong only seeing around 50psi of fuel pressure instead of 800+ psi.
