I'm always happy to try and answer some of the more sensitive questions when it comes to values, should I sell, etc, as the flow of information is important. I almost always err on the side of caution when a potential violation comes up (i.e. didn't know it was against the rules) because hey, sometimes honest mistakes are made. We take it to PM, the issue is explained, and if there's a satisfactory way to address it, I do my best. No yelling, no screaming, no hurt feelings. What I don't appreciate (and I've no doubts I speak for the other mods and Beth on this) is when our efforts are thrown back in our faces under the guise of "censorship", "making a buck", "playing favorites," and so forth, only to have the SAME offenses just re-posted again with a snotty comment (like that's going to make it alright), and THEN people start making public posts about why this or that was done. As Chris said, stuff like this has NO business being posted, it makes the forum look bad, it's not a concern that warrants public interest, it wastes time and it wastes bandwidth. If questions or concerns come up, PM A MOD. That's a VERY clear rule in the SHOforum TOS. Many do this, and to you I say thanks

For those that don't, well just look at this thread to see what can happen.
No, this forum isn't a democracy, never has been. This is Beth's online HOME that she shares with others. Despite this, I still feel that SHOforum makes a fairly concerted effort to keep the members informed as to why certain decisions are made, much moreso than other forums. It does in fact COST money to keep this forum going, and Beth foots some of that bill herself despite the classified sections and sponsorships, and she still tries very hard to help others whenever possible, including bending some of the guidelines to help out in special cases. I actually told Andrew this in the first PM I sent him and suggested he contact Beth to see if it would be ok to make his post, but he choose to respond to me with what I can only call arrogant youth.
So there you have it... a little bit of insight into why sometimes threads go away. And also, take this BIG piece of advice: if you don't know what happened to a post you or someone else made, or you disagree with something that was said or done, TAKE IT TO PM FIRST. We'll listen and we'll do what we can to address the concern. I promise...PROMISE you this: if you just make another public post about it, and especially if you drop some attitude in with it, you're going to get the book thrown at you.
