Hey folks, I've been around a **** of a long time ( 73 yrs.) . I raced Ford & Chevy powered drag cars ( D GAS, Stocks ), Circle Track ( Sprint , Midgets ,Stocks etc. ) & also I had several street Hot Rods .

At this time I have a Chevy SSR @ 420 HP dyno ( No not stock ) . Also I am the proud owner of a 2010 SHO, which I plan to do some mods to.

Back in the day I was the very proud owner of a 1966 Ford Shelby 350.

On the SSRfanatics.com web site we have many members that have designed & built various mods to make the SSR a better preforming &/or looking automobile.

This site . which is many years older than the SSR site , is largly nothing more then a blog for people who have a common interest in the SHO. But very little substantial information on mechanical or cosmetic mods.

I may be old , but I'm not dead !

Doesn't matter what anybody's experience is with Detroit iron. I've been messing with it since the mid '60s.

Life changed when I got the first SHO in '89.

Life changed a LOT when I went woth the turbo LGT in '04.

Knowing how to set up a Holley carb or recurve an ignition doesn't mean squat when you move into another car realm.

Where is the comm port on a carburetor? It's just suck, squish, bang and blow, right? :)

Speaking of the tune.....i have my car tuned now and just recieved the Hen CAI today. Planning on doing the install in the morning. Should I have Livernois check out the tune after the install? Also does it need to be tuned to use the intake?

So right now we are pretty limited on intake setups for the SHO besides Hennessey? Anybody have pictures of the product before installation?

Intake looks good, OP. People are ******** about price, but that's just the way it is with every new platform until other suppliers start building products at competitive prices. It happens. Although personally I would expect greater fitment.

OK Well I have to get in here..

Old guy (73 years) chill out and just relax a bit, A car is a car no matter what platform its on. The ECOSHO and the older versions have the Name in common, small companies like me and torrie ect will be there for the guys.. Hennessey is just getting in because they see dollar signs, when they stop they will be gone and guys like us will still be here..

Now having my hands on the HEN kit now Il will say that its not great, it does not fit well at all, it was made for the Lincoln not the SHO, to correctly install this kit in the SHO you have to Cut your header support to fit the filter in the hole.. the Metal tubes dont have the right bends. (just a little off) and they are made from steel and will absorb the heat from under the hood, espically seeing that they want you to attatch it to the water gooseneck.. so he pipes are always in contact with the engine and act as a heat sink.. they are 3" in diameter and they neck down to 2". Imigine this imagine a 3" pipe that they weld it shut then drill a 2" hole and stick in a ******.. thats what they did so the improved airflow that you would be getting from the 3" hits a wall and creates more turbulance.. Its not a good design.. and its not worth the huge price tag.

Now old dude a Million dollar company cant figure that out but a small company like me that has been here for years can and we are making our own design up and we will also use carbon fiber, plus there will be no abrupt stop in airflow, it will be different so when we or someone else installs larger turbos the new pipes will supply the air correctly..

And that SON is why you should stick with guys like me that work on GEN 1-2-3 SHO's because we understand the shit we have to go though to make stuff work with a resonable price tag. Not someome that has a bad name already and making performance parts that dont perform and charge way to much for because you have heard something somewhere about a company that had a ok name at one time..

Great times with the HHR, but IMO its ugly as SIN... but its cool that it rocks like that..

Bit of advice from A Forum sponser, SHO business owner, Moderator and SHO freind.. give it some time before you go flameing people.. you will learn alot as it becomes available, and there are lots of great people here.. Except SEAN MC, he is a dick sometimes! LOL

There is two sides of the coin here.

1. As a SHO owner first. There is nothing else available yet so if you want something like this then it could be a doable thing.

2. As a SHO business owner, I would wait till something better or they address the issues Below.

1. Fitment issues
2. attatching point to the water inlet (heat sink)
3. Made from steel which will attract and keep heat in.
4. get rid of the horrible neck down from 3-2" and find a better way.

(im slow I know and it will take me some time. My version is at a carbon fiber shop now, but I have no idea how long that will take them, again its not a priority for a business to make something that they might sell 50 per year vs what they make full time.. ) or someone else that sees whats going on with the intake issues. What im hopefull about is that I can get these made and sell them for less money and have a better product.

Now, just a side note.. My freind at Ford who made the stock intake system, said good luck trying to make a better one..

Seems that a better one is easy to make, I mean even the Hennesey one adds some hp (at least they claim it does).

That being said I'm very interested in what you will come up with and may just be ordering one. Just wish I was located closer to you. As far as I know there is no one around here that works with SHO's the way you do.

Looking forward to all of the other stuff you are working on as well, I keep checking your site hoping to see some updates. ;)

Kirk said intake system. IMHO, most stock intake systems today are pretty optimal unless a high amount of care was taken to quieting it down. In my Caddy, a revised intake tube w/ stock box is about as good a system as you can get...

Well I have some tuning to do on the other cars so waiting won't be an issue. I've read about the horror stories from hennsy viper owners. So I think I'll always be scared to order anything from them. I'll wait. Carbon fiber huh?

How about a more efficient intercooler and/or a pair of Big16Gs to replace the stock turbos? I'm guessing that would require a set of headers.
