very easy man- first locate the jumper wire- it will be either in the back trunk in the upper left corner right by the strut tower- it should be a grey connector u have to jump them... than turn ur ignition to the on position and watch ur door "lock" and i think it will "unlock" again and than press the lock button on the remote- ur doors will "Lock" and "Unlock" and than turn the car off and try the remote if that one button only works u need to do that process for all the buttons and os forth but if they all work after the first step than ur all done...also if u want 2 remotes on there i think u need ot do them both at the same time or else when u think ur adding another remote to it- it really just cancels the other one and adds ur new one..i did this on ym 94 and it was so easy- the only problem was i had a remote starter installed and it messed my programming up and it was impossible to program more remotes so i finally figured it out and disconnected everything and than reprogrammed it and than hooked my starter back up im sure u wont have to do that..but nehow goodluck and if u need more help just scream..

basically when u jump a wire or short it ous- it means u need to take some pice of metal or wire and attach it to both prongs in that clip...that way u create a short and complete a circuit- so basically just hook both of those prongs up to one piece of wire...hope that helps

I went out to look at mine and it's a black connector with the two pins visible. It is next to a light blue and a grey connectors.

I just took a paper clip and positioned it to make the jump while I programmed the remote.

As SHOEMUP mentioned, after making the jump and turning the key to the ON position you will hear the doors lock/unlock. Then you press the button(s) on the remote. When done, turn the key to OFF and remove the jumper from the connector.

Alright, i must be blind. I see a large rectangular box w/ MOTORCRAFT printed on it. There are 2 connectors, (brown and grey) connected to the box, w/ 8 slots in each. There is a grey connector w/ 8 slots just hanging beside the box. There is also a grey connector w/ 2 slots haning in the same place. I tried jumping this connector, no luck. I see no other connectors and no pins. Perhaps selective blindness? Please help. Thanx

Here ya go:

This one is from the manual:

Programming - Transmitter

To program (or reprogram) keyless entry remote transmitters (15k601) into the electronic door lock control processor, perform the following steps:

NOTE: The electronic door lock control processor erases all previous keyless entry remote transmitters from memory when the keyless entry remote transmitters are programmed or reprogrammed. The electronic door lock control processor can store up to four keyless entry remote transmitters in memory.

1. Turn ignition switch (11572) to RUN or ACC position and momentarily short the two terminals of the program connector (C4) (a two-pin connector taped to the wire assembly can be reached by removing the left hand luggage trim panel). All doors should lock then unlock.

2. Remove shorting pin.

3. Press any button on keyless entry remote transmitters. All doors should lock then unlock, to verify that keyless entry remote transmitters have been programmed. NOTE: If door locks do not respond, press button again (up to three times maximum with the same keyless entry remote transmitter). If door locks still fail to respond, go to Pinpoint Test B.

4. Turn ignition switch OFF. All doors should lock then unlock.

5. Check operation.

This is from a TSB:

Attachment II - Technical Information

Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter Reprogramming

NOTE: The reprogramming procedure is basically identical for all vehicles. Exceptions will be identified within each step.

Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter Reprogramming

1. Locate the 2-pin RKE programming connector. Refer to RKE Programming Connector Location list below.

2. Turn ignition switch to the RUN position.

3. Using a jumper wire or alligator clip momentarily short the two terminals within the 2-pin program connector. On Econoline models you will need to short these terminals for the duration of the reprogramming procedure. The doors will lock then unlock on all models except Contour and Mystique. On Contour and Mystique models only the horn will sound and the exterior lights will flash.

4. Press any button on the remote keyless entry transmitter. All doors will lock then unlock to verify transmitter has been programmed. The horn will sound and the exterior lights will flash on the Contour and Mystique.

NOTE: Programming in the first transmitter will erase all other previously programmed transmitters. All transmitters that are to operate with the vehicle (up to four transmitters) must be programmed during Steps 4 and 5.

5. Repeat Step 4 for any additional remote transmitters to be reprogrammed.

6. Turn ignition switch OFF. All doors should lock then unlock. On Contour and Mystique models the horn will sound and the exterior lights will flash.

7. Remove short (Econoline models only).

8. Install any trim previously removed.

9. Verify transmitter operation.

RKE Programming Connector Location
The Two-Pin RKE Programming Connector Is Located;

Taurus/Sable Wagons - behind the left side trim panel inside the cargo area. Remove the trim panel for access to the connector.

Taurus/Sable Sedans - Under the left side of the package tray.

Contour/Mystique - under the right side of the instrument panel, behind right side of glove compartment. Reach up behind the glove compartment for access to the connector.

Probe - in the trunk behind the subwoofer on the right side of the vehicle. Remove the subwoofer (if so equipped) for access to the connector.

Mark VIII, Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis and Town Car - behind the glove compartment. Open the glove compartment, compress the sides to allow it to fully open and let it hang for access to the connector.

F-Series and Bronco - under the drivers side of the instrument panel above the drivers right foot area.

Mustang - in the trunk behind the left side trim panel. Loosen the lining board (convertibles only) and the rear and left side trim covers to gain access to the connector.

Thunderbird/Cougar - behind the left side trim panel inside the trunk. Remove the trim panel for access to the connector.

Explorer - behind the left quarter utility compartment access panel. Remove the panel for access to the connector.

Windstar - behind and to the right of the glove compartment, compress the sides to allow it to fully open and let it hang for access to the connector.

Econoline - under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column.

Continental - under the right side of the instrument panel near the glove compartment. Remove the panel from beneath the instrument panel for access to the connector.

For further information regarding connector location and color-coding refer to the appropriate Electrical Vacuum and Troubleshooting Manual (EVTM).

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. Hope this helps. You can see the connector with the pins visible that I mentioned in an earlier post. These are found in the trunk, driver side, beneath the carpet near the fuel cutoff switch.

Also, what year is your SHO? I think some of the older models only had keyless entry and not remote keyless entry.
