Does anyone have a PDF file detailing how to remove a SHO GEN I motor with tranny complete out of the engine bay?

Its been about 6 years since I last did one and dont want to forget a wire or sensor when pulling the motor out while i rebuild it.

Thanks !!

take it out from the bottom. I find its easiest to use tape marked with a sharpie to indicate sensors, harnesses and hoses by numbers. For instance when disconnecting the vacuum hose from the power brake booster - label the hose with a number 1 and label where it hooks to with a number one. So on and so on. Just label everything you disconnect and you'll have no problem.

Pull the intake as well as other items such as the batt and holder as well as the whole air box. Basically anything that obstructs your view around the engine. There is really not that much to unhook in the end. But just make a few checks all around and you should be fine. Them make sure to check as your lifting for anything you may have missed. Pulling it out the top is pretty simple remove the hood as well. When your attaching the lifting rig attach to the lifting lug and the front and then at the rear head on the opposite side. Then to the lug on the tranny, but make the line going to the tranny adjustable so you can angle it in and out.

Pull it out the top. Its not hard. Remove the y pipe, shifter, all plugs (not many), ps line, clutch cable, Cv axles, motor mount bolts, and just pull the motor and tranny out the top. first time took me 6 hours, 2nd try took me 3 hours.

Out the top minus the belts, pulleys, pumps, alternator, ect, and the trans detached from it. Can have an engine out by that method in a day.

I can leave all the accesories on. Its easy. Only thing you have to really watch out for is the alternator hitting the radiator fill cap.

Just precautionary. I take out the radiator as well since the coolant is out anyway, hoses are disconnected, and is held on by only 4 bolts. When putting it back in, I put the block in minus the heads for the sake of having extra room to work with. Easier for me that way.
