I don't know how to put this.. Well heres the story.

I was start up my car and i look over at the EATC.. i see it reset serveral times while the car IS running. So i think to myself.. that can't be good. I then shut the car off and restart it. Now the EATC reads OFF.. but i hear the fan on and air is coming out near the windshild..

So i go and buy a used EATC (got it for 8 bucks, sweet deal. ) and hook it up thinking the old EATC broke or something. Hook the new one up and the same thing is happaning, fan is on and blowing out of the windshild defroster.

I am kinda stumped here on what to do.

An EATC that is acting strangely like that is usually the result of low power supply voltage. Focus your efforts on your battery, alternator, and cables.

The EATC is very susceptible to low supply voltage.

I do know i need a new Negitive cable/clamp that connects to my battery. I am gonna replace that anyway. But i don't think that'll keep the fan running.

more than likely the BCM as mentioned above...that will usually be the only part that allows the HVAC fan to blow when the EATC is off.

What year is that Continental EATC?

I really don't know, it had the 3.8L FWD V-6 in it though. All i really saw was a not button broken EATC and dived to grab it.

Mike, I'd be leary of trusting that the Lincoln EATC is "working". Normally if you put a Lincoln EATC module in a SHO it will do all kinds of goofy things. I've been doing the conversions for quite a while now and I have not run across one that works in the SHO without doing the conversion. I see you are in Philly. I have several working EATC units and test car if you want to try to chase down your problem.

It is working, all the functions work. Except the fan is on full blast. lol Sure KC, if you own a house or shop or whatever. Send me a PM with a time and place or what else and we can set up something.

the BCM is under the passenger side dash, behind the black trim piece covering the blower motor housing. very easy to replace, as long as you dont mind being bent over for a few mins. someone on the forum should be able to find you a decent used one if you cant find one.
