Ok the other day smoke was coming up out of the hood and it felt like after that the transmission was slipping. Which it really shouldn't be cause it only has 30,000 miles on it. Well it seems as if there is a leak coming from the cooler lines. The top one is fine but under the bottom one everything is coated. I am lucky enough that I am pretty sure that I haven't burned out my tranny. But was curious if anybody has any suggestions on a fix or cause of this problem.

16 year old car, stuff happens. make sure you degrease it good to pinpoint the leak. Will save you the hassle if you replace the wrong part just because its "wet"

Yup, cuz if your oil is leaking from the oil pan, it will get all over your tranny pan, and make it look like the tranny fluid is leaking. Spray some degreaser all under there while at a car wash, then wash it all away with the high pressure water hose. Then check again in less than 24hrs.

Also, there is a sensor on the tranny referred to as the MLP sensor. I doubt this is the issue! I can't even tell you what this sensor does. I think I was dooped into getting this changed when I was having tranny issues. It did nothing for my tranny as I needed a tranny rebuild.

Do remove the fluid, grime, dirt, etc. Brake parts cleaner works great!

If the problem is where the hard line plugs into the transmission via a fitting, you'll have to replace the whole fitting if you want to be certain its fixed.

I bought two of them and only used one. Expensive little sucker - around $25. If you want it, I'll sell it to you for what I paid for it and still donate the sales fee to Bizzy for the forum.
