Hello everyone
I pop something loose in Seattle about 2 months ago. I freaked out on the hill coming up the water front causing the RPMs to hit really high and burning plenty of good rubber and making plenty of noise. So what I think happened is that the valve hit the cover popping it loose. Do to that the SHO is still driving but it is smoking out of the side of the motor by the firewall. It appears to be oil burning very slowly and the anti-freeze isn’t dropping. Also, the anti-freeze is clear of oil. Now that it is getting colder out I notice that when I run the heater it pulls some of the smoke into the car.
I don’t believe I cracked the block. What I am thinking is that I popped one of the old seals and now oil is leaking out of it since the seal won’t reseat just right. But that doesn’t explain why the smoke is coming in thru the vents badly when it is on. Smoke doesn’t appear to leak in when the vent isn’t on or at least not badly. Thinking if I buy both the upper and lower gasket sets from RCM that will fix the problem. What your guys thought. By the way my SHO is a 92 MTX obviously.
No Pics since there is no obvious damage.
Thanks for your guys input.
