Hey guys,

I was driving down the road and shifted to neutral to drop the revs before a turn. The throttle got stuck and it reved to the redline. I quickly shut off the car and coasted. It started up fine and didn't do it again, but the tach flipped over and I can't tell the rpm's anymore. Does anyone know how to fix it quickly or a way to bypass it for a while?

Thanks,
Ryan

my friends sho had the same problem. He found that the cruise control line was the problem. Im not exactly sure what exactly was wrong but check the black line right behind the throttle and make sure its not stuck.

The cruise control cable has gotten stuck on several of my previous SHO's. That is most likely your problem.

What you can do is shut the car off, have someone press the pedal to the floor and you watch the throttle cable in the engine. See if anything touches at full throttle. To get the tach to show correctly, take the car up to redline in first gear until it hits the rev limiter. This should bounce it back into place. If this doesn't work, you will have to take the instrument cluster apart and move it by hand.

Ok,
I tried that and it worked. Flipped right back around whe it hit the rev limiter. Tach works great now.

Thanks a ton.
