HELP**NEED xtra suggestions

Well I did a COMPLETE upper&front 60K on the car(3wks in the making) :rant:
after doing upper it started and ran great....did front put ALL back together and she cranks but wont start, read some threads, im going to put MY NEW DIS on it instead of one that came w/new intake, and also i think i forgot the ground strap on the back side of intake :bonk: :bonk: .....BUT heres my thing, does the CPS only go in 1 way ONLY and Y does it have to be gaped @ .03inches????? I did the best i could on that one, but after i check the other things and how to run codes, ANY ideas what else it could be???
I've been SHOless almost a month now :cry:

With out the ground for the DIS the car will not run. You gap the CPS to .030" to center the ring through the sensor.

SO does that mean that it still HAS TO BE gapped to .03 nuthin more, nuthin less???? or as long as it is .03 spacing or more its OK????

ALSO does it ONLY GO IN ONE WAY or does it have to go in one SPECIFIC way, I APPRECIATE ALL YOUR RESPONSES, as this has been the biggest headache for me so far, and I KNOW i dont wanna have to tear it down again if it's sumpin small!!!!

Its going to be OK as long as the ring does not hit the cps. Ya it only goes in one way the same way it came out. Did you rotate the engine when you installed it to make sure it was clear at all 3 points?

You may want to check the "fins" on the lower pully. Sometimes they are bent. Check the ground strap, and make sure the crossover tube is bolted down tight. This provides a ground as well. :thumb:

WELL, the ground strap and x-tube WERE tight, and tried it again....ALL CRANK NO TURNOVER and start :cry: ......well since the CPS must be in right since it goes in one way, im assuming thats what it is, ALSO while cranking I noticed that the tach jumped to 200 rpm and didnt MOVE AT ALL ??? :eek: so that could be a good indication its the CPS....what FINS are u exactly talking about??the ones on the harmonic balancer??, man this is becoming a bigger headache than the WHOLE 60K....thanx again to all who helps!!!!...i'll appreciate ALL suggestions and will update Thurs. night after i get back in town (damn JOB) thanx again!!!!....

ISHODU>>>your referring to the spaces in between the crank that it sits into/behind of???? NO i did not check that (dope) but i hear nuttin hittin or clicking while it's crankin...guess that could be an OK thing???..thanx again

WELL, thats exactly what happend, got the harmonic balancer off and there was chunks of sensor all in there :eek: ....SO tomorrow i will replace that one w/the old one, or a new one if a parts store has it in stock and try this again.....SO is there anything special i should do to make sure this doesn't happen again??? install then manually turn crank and make sure it's clear of EVERYTHING, and check the "vanes" to make sure they clear also, anything else i should watch caution for while installing this damn CPS???? thanx again to all!!!!!!
