Just took my 210K mile 3.0 SHO to the dyno. I pulled a best of 195.9FWHP and 188.1TQ. The pull was made in 4th Gear. My mods are SHOshop Stage I minus UDPs (waiting from SHOshop) but my LPM thinks I have UDPs (bought off another SHO owner and didn't bother to have it reburned to not have UDPs. Is this a prob?) Anyways, I will have the graph scanned tomorrow but in the meantime, I will list the data and was wondering if this was normal. My power also died off after 6000 rpms. Does this sound a little low to you guys? Looks like I'll be shifting a lot sooner now. The dyno guy also told me that I was running "dangerously" lean. You be the judge and see if I am or not. Also, when my SHO was at higher RPMs, it was sputtering grey/black smoke. It wasn't a consist cloud of smoke, but a sputtering (on/off/on/off) of smoke.

Those numbers look quite healthy except for the lean A/F data. That lean mixture could be from the LPM, the MAF or the combination. You may want to check the dyno topic in the Open Forum - SHO Related header. You had very little fall off after the power peak at 5,900 and should adjust your shift points to keep the revs centered around that peak. That requires shifting near redline.

Actually 14:1 A/F is not bad, if previous teachings working on 305's and 350's, 14:1 was optimal.

Yeah Mike, that's kinda lean. Not as bad as I've seen it, but still lean.

For 210k, 195hp at the wheels isn't bad. I got the same numbers from my 130k 91 during the MAF / Y-Pipe combo testing last year. Tq looks good across the board at your tq. peaks before & after the secondaries.

I want to see the graph to see any "jitters" up high.

4th gear is the best gear to run in, as there's less "correction" by the dyno for the gearing.

With the smoothing of the discreet data points, the curves look quite normal and greater than the original 220 hp output (181 hp at the wheels). The air/fuel ratio is on the lean side for full throttle mapping. See the revised Excel generated graphs below.

Scott,
Thank you so much for inputting my data and creating a graph. You really went out of your way to help and I greatly appreciate it.

Those numbers are much leaner than a typical SHO.

Also, if you were seeing black/grey smoke, and running that lean, you've got a problem with incomplete combustion. How long since you last changed your plugs?

I don`t think most people here understand the reasoning and purpose of an LPM.Cars are dyno tuned to get the best results with the most safety. It essensially means the engine is "tuned on the dyno".An LPM that is not specifically tuned for your car with a before dyno sheet is not what it`s intended for. It`s not a "bolt on" mod,it`s used(or supposed to be used) for fine tuning on the computer for the engine. Many people are hurting from a poorly tuned LPM,not because Ted did a bad job,but because they didn`t go the extra mile to get the car tuned properly. What spend the money for an LPM,only to get the "best shot" at how the car should be tuned?
Yank that LPM out before it causes damage, especially with the high miles.Ted can get a much better one for you with the dyno sheet that you now have.
Btw,this isn`t intended towards you, just LPM buyers in general.

When I build up my new motor, I am going to have the car dyno-tuned. I am not even gonna put on the Ford 80mm MAF until then either.

I have plotted the A/F ratio and displayed the graph above. You may save these graphs to your own computer by right clicking and selecting "Save Picture As..." from the drop down menu.
