Hey everyone, just picked up a 2013 SHO with a CORSA exhaust from a dealership yesterday. I used to drive a 2006 Ford Fusion V6 SEL but it started becoming a money pit.
I am in love with this car. The handling, speed, and overall look of the car is pretty damn amazing. I am definitely looking to put in a cold air intake and a stage 1 Livernois tune in the future.

Nice pick up. Change all of the fluids. Oil, coolant, PTU and RDU. I would also start cycling the trans fluid as well.

A cold air intake will not yield much in performance. A K&N drop in filter into the stock air box will give you everything you need for 1/5 of the price.

Do your research on LMS. There is alot of info on here on why I wouldn't let them tune my lawnmower, much less my SHO.

Thank you for pointing these things out. I'm new to Turbos in general. I researched this car for a bit and it was hard to find a checklist of sorts of what to look out for/do. I know the PTU is a main source of grief for some folks (according to my research anyways, lol.)

I'm just mainly trying to focus on maintaining the life of the car as long as possible without going bat shit crazy on the tuning, mods, etc. If I can still maintain the life of the car with tuning and mods, that would be even better. I reached out to my shop a few days before I got this car and already have an inspection scheduled and a PTU fluid change.

If you are replacing the PTU fluid, I recommend the RedLine Shockproof Lightweight Fluid.

Already in my Amazon shopping cart! As for your trans failure, I'm assuming that was just luck of the draw? Or is this something to be expected with regards to the SHO? I would really prefer not to have something catastrophic like that happen.

And are there any "rules" when it comes to driving the SHO? Things I should absolutely not do (aside from the obvious.). I take pretty good care of the vehicles I own because I do a shit ton of research before I go deep on a purchase.

My trans failure is documented in the thread. The 6F55 trans has been shown to fail even in stock form.

Dont baby the car. Ecoboost engines in general like to be opened up often so to speak. Change fluids frequently, cheap insurance.

I did not know that about Ecoboost engines! Is there any particular reason why they like to be opened up? Trying to learn as much as I can currently.

Couldnt give you 100% specifics but it helps with the carbon build up issue. Also helps keep your pcv system cleared out to my understanding. Im no expert but that has been my experience thus far.
