Good day members,

My name is John and I own a '16 SHO, W/ performance package. This is my first new car that I purchased May of last year (2016). No performance modifications at this time. I believe in keeping my daily driver and my toys separate.

I have crept this site for some time just to see what others are doing, decided to finally join and add my $.02

Why am I de-Ranged? Well I grew up in northern Mn in an area is called the Iron Range. Now that I live in Michigan, I am de-Ranged.

Welcome to the new wilderness, the shiny spunky corner of the autoverse we call SHOforum! Great pics of the SHO, John, nice to see it in both "extremes". Have you owned/driven other Fords before?

The longer you know me the worse they get.

I have worked for Ford for around 6(?) years about 3 in a dealership back home (Mn) and 3 in Michigan. The top photograph is actually taken back home in MN looking out over the top of an old mine dump onto an active Iron Ore mine. The lower is here in Michigan.

I have owned two fords, a '05 500 that I purchased used with 250,000 miles. My mother now has this car and it is close to 290,000. First AWD car, first time I put a car in the ditch. This is my first car with winter tires and first AWD with winter tires. I think winter tires would have been a great choice years ago!

This is my first new Ford (and new car in general) that replaced a TDI Jetta. I special ordered this car, i wanted teh bronze firs, performance package, sun roof, premium sound, navigation and of course the performance package. Mostly to make sure the PTU lives a little longer, but also wanted teh handeling and cooling system upgrades. Am I truly happy with this car, no unfortunately. But in the grand scheme of it all it is a great car for the money i believe. I wish IA was on every car. The technology is great it it and the power is there when i want it. Fuel economy sucks compared to the Jetta. Oh well, cant get everything. (A diesel Taurus???) I have SOLOed/Auto Xed the car an other that SOME under steer it was great. I believe some new tires and alignment will help. Some little learning on my end, well a LOT of learning will help. I have put a few 14 hour road trips in it from Mi to Mn. and the fuel economy was mid upper 20's.

For the 100 miles i put on daily, i really do like the car.

I will note that although i do want to tune and modify it. I have learned that a daily driver and a toy should be two units. This way youre not stuck with a broke down car.

I will do some exterior mods. I want to get the black/blank fender badges and remove some of the chrome and tint the windows lightly.

I undercoated the car with 3m undercoating, and removed the bumper cover to put window screen in front of the radiator/CAC/transmission cooler. This is in attempt to prevent road debris from damaging the coolers over time.
