Does anyone have (or can someone point me towards) some in-depth instructions for pulling the heads? (head gasket replacement) Basically, I need "Heds for Dummys." Any personal tips would be helpful, also.
Thanks,
Tony

Hey Tony, once you get down to the heads, it's actually pretty simple. In fact, the whole job is pretty easy if you just take your time. If this is your first time taking the intake, valve covers, cams, timing belt, etc off, make sure you label everything.

I have a Ford service manual. I will take a picture of the pages for you and post it tomorrow.

So what happened that this is required? frown

A Haynes manual (doesn't have to be for SHO just to get the basics) would be a good start.

You can get the torque values here when you're ready to put it back together.

I replaced the head on my truck last spring. That's the only car I've ever done that with though. All I had was a Haynes that covered something like the 1978-1992 mazda small trucks.

Unfortunately, you'd BETTER have the SHO manual (or info) to get the torque values for this engine.

The SHO manual also has pictures in it to guide the firstimer through the process. Highly recommended.
