Hi everyone. I bought my SHO exactly a week and one day ago today. When I test drove it, I tried to test everything I could think of to make sure everything worked. I remembered the blinkers but didn't think to try the flashers/hazards. Well, I eventually tried them and noticed they didn't work. :( I also noticed when I 'double-pumped' my 'lock' button on the remote the horn would honk but the flashers wouldn't flash. Well, just a few nights ago, the blinkers stopped working! When I turn the stick up or down, nothing happens - inside or out. I looked at the fuse layout but the fuse that contains the flashers shares accessories that I know are working. Any help would be much appreciated. It is not easy (nor safe) to drive around without blinkers. Thanks.

Mine developed a problem after stopping to help a motorist. After turning off the hazards, the blinkers no longer worked. A mechanic at Ford said the switch on top of the steering column is prone to collecting dirt and dust. He worked it up and down several times and the blinkers have been working ever since. No charge, but the service scheduler tried to sell me a new $300 switch. "Uh, no thanks."

You may also want to try some compressed air if necessary.

Bank!!! You are my hero! Thanks soooo much dude! When I was at work today and I read your reply, I could not wait to get home to try playing with/cleaning my hazard switch. After reading your story and knowing that my switch was filled with this gooey syrup-like stuff, I had hope. All the way home I tried the up and down thing - no results. Well, when I got home, I took out the Q-Tips, the rubbing alchohol, the Goo-Gone, etc. and went to town. There was so much crap in there! It must have taken me at least 50 ups-and-downs to get my first temporary 'quick flash' of the hazards. I kept going. Push the button down, bring it up, wipe off some goo, repeat... Then it got to the point where I could push the button back and right and it would work - lol. I kept going. Finally, after 20+ minutes, the button goes up and down with ease, the hazards work every time and best of all my blinkers are back! Thanks so much for the motivating reply! :) O.k., it's midnight, I'm tired but I just had to tell you/thank you. Good night...

You know what though, the flashers still don't work when I lock the doors with the remote. The owner's manual says if you hit LOCK once, the doors lock silently, if you hit LOCK twice, the hazards flash and the horn honks. My horn honks but my flashers don't 'flash'.

No answer?

So when you guys press the 'LOCK' button twice, do your hazards flash?

I just tried mine. They do not flash at all. The horn does blow though.

Hmmm. Well, that's 2 for 2. So I will assume they just don't flash. Like I said though, the owner's manual clearly states the horn will blow and the hazards will flash. But like you Bank only my horn blows. Actually, there were a few other things in the owner's manual I didn't agree with... Oh well, thanks for trying.

My lights will flash but is soo fast you would have to have your eye right up to the light to see it. It doesn't have time to even half light up the filament.

Thanks Isho. You know, I thought I saw something once - like a very quick flicker - but I dismissed it as my imagination because I haven't seen it since. Oh well, not that big of a deal. I was mainly asking only because since I had that hazard switch problem, I just wanted to make sure that wasn't the reason mine were not blinking.

Tell me about it! My 91 is not supposed to have autolocks on the doors. It does. F-in' ford sometimes. Back on topic, my lights blink with the lock button but the alarm 'chirps', not the horn. WTF? shrug
