Any suggestions to try AWD with OEM tires?

Should I get chains if so what kind?

Welcome to the community, Steve! Not quite understanding your question though. How many miles do you have on your SHO/tires, and why would you need chains? Are you in the U.S., or Canada?

If you have summer tires on the car, outside temperature is the enemy, my understanding is in low temps they become hard and possibly brittle and there's nothing much you can do except install all seasons/snow tires.

If you have the performance package (partial Alcantara wrapped steering wheel - a suede like material) then your OEM tires are summer tires. Use them in the winter at your own risk. Summer tires are designed to give more grip in warm climates. The grip provided by summer tires in the winter (below 40°F) is equivalent to the grip provided by the plastic tires on a children's power wheels!
