I've been looking into some performance shocks/struts myself, just haven't decided on what yet.
LMAO Let me know if you find something, I have spent a couple 100 hours trying to find some "performance" shocks for the SHO, unless someone started making them they don't exist. You may find a performance company that makes a general purpose shock that fits but no one makes them for the Taurus and that still leaves you with the struts. Best I can figure the general consensus is the OEM shocks are your best bet. I actually hope I'm wrong and you find something.

Honestly I don't know if there is a difference in the PP shocks, but yea if I remember correctly from the many threads, the best shocks with the least amount of issues where the OEM ones. I think Monroe and maybe KYB do make shocks for the SHO but there not heavy duty or anything, BUT I gave up about a year ago, so it could have changed by now.

The PP and non-PP are different part numbers so there is some differences. $5 says you will not find anything that is direct fit better than OEM.

OK I have my springs installed for about a week now and I’m hearing noises every time I turn the wheel. Went back to the shop Friday jacked up sprayed some spray on it so it would stop making noise and nothing. The rubber Mount that’s on top of the strut assembly is loose that the spring mounts to and you can actually move The spring up and down about a 1/4”. Only when the car is jacked up.
Is anyone having this problem

I think that's expected. The lowering springs are shorter than stock, so there's some slop when the cars weight isn't on them. The struts are longer than the springs... That's all.

As for the noise, make sure they put the upper mounts back in correctly. There's a mark that looks like a Delta symbol (triangle). They both face (or point) toward the center of the car ( if I remember correctly).

Jack it up yourself and measure the height of the spring as accurately as you can. Then check that against the specs from the manufacturer.

It is a long shot, but today's consumer is not above ordering a specified product, opening the box and retrieving the product, and stuffing the box with something similar, and returning for a full refund with the pre-printed label that is included.

This happened to me on front strut assemblies.
