My hubby has a LMS tune on his SS and I've been begging for one on my 15 SHO, but he's holding the speeding ticket I got (about one month after having the car) over my head:nono:. I guess I'm on time out and have to wait :shame:I'm hoping with some persuasive arguing and consistent and confusing woman's logic he'll give in soon :smash:

Great thanks for asking! Had a full service move with Atlas, they did an awesome job. New home is "box central" right now, but I'm slowly unpacking. Michigan weather has been better than expected (by that I mean no snow where I am) :p The roads here are plain awful... I see why suspension is so important now...driving these roads :D

Yes, the roads here are God Awful...not only ******* suspension, but dangerous for performance tires and rims too. Welcome to the mitten!

I don't even wait for my man to say a word... I just order it... He knows about my car obsession and he steers clear. :p

lol.. you guys are a hoot. OKAY... time for some fuzzy-but-damn-good-anyway-logic for the hubby.

"Dear, a tune isn't about breaking the law, or speed limits, or even maximum speed... as it is, my SHO does 133 governed stock, so either way it won't help or hurt with speeding tickets. What a tune will help with is safety. Yes, quickness in acceleration is a safety feature!! Just like quickness in stopping!! What happens if I'm pulling out on a single lane state route with a speed limit set to 45mph, and some yahoo in a [insert his most hated car here] is doing 70 mph, comes around the bend while texting and doesn't see me?? Do you want me to get hit? or run off the road and get hurt? Don't you want me to have the horsepower to accelerate out of that situation safely?"

There ya have it folks... the #1 reason for tuning. Tuning saves lives. :D :D

Just dumb it down for your hubby....

We men are simplistic.

Deny him access until he caves.

Then only grant him access sparingly until he acknowledges your tuned SHO is faster than his tuned SS.

Make him wear that dress proudly by golly.

See @SHOJLUS, just do it...let's face it you guys rule the world anyway! :bowrofl:
@BoatSHO -Not in me to just order it without discussing/and agreeing first, wouldn't work in my household (from either side)
@Livernois Motorsports - I've been working on him! His new 16 SS just came in...so I think I'm going to tag along when he goes to have the tune installed on the new one ...and work in a " since we're already here" ;)
And yes WE do <<looking for princess emoji>>

I agree.
No win for me (no access and no tune)
He will NEVER let that happen (you know how fragile men's egos are)

OMG... that's freaking hilarious!!!!

Safety feature ftw. In truth, I believe my tune has saved me from one such scenario one time, so it wasn't total BS. Just sayin' (And guilt works also muhaha.)

Yep, nagging and guilt...that's the plan:poke: and if that doesn't work I may have to resort to :mecry: or :naughty1:

I have never heard about Tune and safety in the same sentence but I love the safety angle. If we can run it by our insurance clerks to show that a tune can help save lives then we are set.

Good to see we are getting some good back and forth banter but still realizing that we enjoy the vehicles and want to get more out of them. LMS I am not sure how you even got in the EcoBoost tuning game but glad you did. Your tunes are powerful effective reasonably easy to install and tech support for the beginning tuners like me is awesome.

Though I was joking, I was also being half serious. I think safety comes from being in control of the car (and using good sense haha) and control over the car means along every potential vector, left, right, back (braking), forward (accelerator), and even vertical (suspension). We benefit from improving our control along each given vector, including the forward one. The more control we have the greater the potential for safety when used properly.

As for the insurance, afaik, they are only swayed by numbers; and that's why the Corvette has been one of the cheapest cars to insure. They're not often in accidents. Wonderful thought thought... I'd love cheaper insurance hehe.

Woke up this morning to an LMS Tune installed on my girl! Apparently the hubby already had it ... and was getting a real kick out of our back and forth on this thread yesterday! Guess this means no more "ticket" time-out for me:p!
Took her out on the hwy and all I can say is :omgsho:

I was wrong, he didn't call :bs:... he actually liked your "man" logic and safety explanation.
