guage cluster switch

I've been looking for a gen 3 for a while now. I really want a 96 but I really like the looks of the 99 guage cluster. Has anyone every switched this out before? wink

Uhh... What do you like about the '99 cluster? It actually has LESS information on it than the '96. The '96 came with the shift indicator, headlamp-out indicator, washer-fluid indicator, and I think one other indicator that was de-contented by '97.

As far as switching out the entire cluster, you have the odometer to "worry" about...

So, again, what's so special about the '99 cluster that you wouldn't want the '96? If its jst the silver separators/surround, you can take it out and paint it and re-install it.

Some of the idiot lights had their locations switched in the '98-'99 IC. If it is just the overlay piece you can paint the one you have or order a '99 piece.
