cheap/ghetto way out... if they run side by side, do customer collector into one large (3.5"?)resonator (or glass pack like the thrush), then split off again.
You can see straight through the glass pack, it just has perforated walls, so you still get high flow, but lower sound. Its your choice, if you've gotten most other problems squared away with the car, I would probably do just as SHO.fast suggested, but just offering different options.
RCMautomotive.com has the resonator pipe as well.

do you have a stock system?

because i put a sho source catted y pipe on my stock exhaust and it sounded just about the same

Yeah I'm trying to lean toward the quiet exhaust system since I live in the city and really cannot stand to be harrassed by the Police all the time. And some will bash me but I will be having a Car seat for JR in the back and don't want him going deaf.

Yeah I priced out everything using the Walker online catalog. This place had everything in stock except the resonator, which is about $65. The grand total for the parts alone (not including new mufflers/tips which I already have) is around $500, not including the cost for installation.

Magnaflow Y-pipe

Dynomax cat back

Problem solved. Yes, it costs money, but its the correct way to do things.

X2, 'cept if you're anywhere near snow anytime of the year start saving up for some SS magnaflow mufflers to replace those Dynomax 3-chamber's cause they'll rust out in about a year and half!

Welcome to the pit, jump right in, water's fine.:sun:

You know what really sucks. The car came with an extra set of Magnaflow mufflers. I wound up giving them to my brother for his Acura CL because he kept ******** and whining about buying them off of me, and finally I was like here, take the damn things and leave me alone about them. So that was $100 I could have saved on mufflers.

I pretty much thought I was going to have to go this route. I'm going to get the top end of the engine taken care of first before I worry with this. I'm waiting for the guy to clear out his shop and spare a Saturday. These money pit cars are nothing new to me. The paint is going to be the big cost. That's planned for later this year.

No snow here. I love the cold/snow but we don't get squat. I wear shorts year-round. I don't bother with jeans/long-sleeve shirts until it's in the 30's.

Anyway, I'm just going to nut it up and buy a stock Y-pipe or maybe a magnaflow; then get a cat-back system. Money isn't a huge issue anymore since I got a decent bonus. Still, I don't want to dump thousands into a toy when I could be saving some money.

The exhaust will come after I get this top-end noise fixed. I want to make sure it's nothing serious first. Then I'll put on a new exhaust and paint it.
