A bittersweet goodbye to all the wonderful people I've met in here over the last EIGHT years!! I've never owned a car as long as my SHO! I bought her new in November 2013 but she was a 2014 model. I loved everything about the car except the exhaust which I tried so many combinations to make it sound good.
And to make her go any faster would require a lot more money than I thought it's worth. The answer to my quest for a 4-door, AWD, powerful, great sounding car would be a 2017-2018 Audi S6 with a DS1 tune. However, I could not find the one I wanted after 7 months of searching. So, for now I decided to get this vehicle as a daily and still look for my Audi S6.
But thanks again for ALL of you that helped me and my car! I will definitely lurk around this forum especially to check in on bpd1151's build!
So here's my baby for now: 2021 Dodge Durango RT with the Tow N Go Package. This package gives the car ALL the SRT treatments like performance exhaust with 4" tips, suspension, steering, Brembo brakes, 20x10 wheels, the only thing missing is the larger V8. But the 5.7 Hemi is plenty and considering I'm going to mod her with a supercharger, etc. it'll be better than an SRT.
I already modified her ONE day after taking delivery with new SRT/Trackhawk gloss black wheels. Next up is Momentum GT CAI, 90mm TB, Spacer, American Racing Long Tubes, tune, etc.
This disease is horrible, mod-fever!

Stock, Monday April 12th in the dealer parking lot:

Eric Hahn 2021 Dodge Durango RT5

Modified, SRT Gloss Black Wheels (with some brake dust), Tuesday April 13th in my garage:

Sorry to see you go and congrats on your new ride. Those Durangos are nice! Before I go my 2013 sho last year, I rented often for the NY/BOS run and grabbed an R/T Hemi whenever I found one, Durango, Charger or Challenger.

Damn.......

Well, I'm glad to read that the SHO was your longest owned vehicle.

Not glad to read you're moving on.

Please do continue checking back from time to time, and in the interim, enjoy the crap out of that Durango! Having personally owned that powerplant, albeit in the Charger variant, they're a blast to drive!

Miss 'ya already pal.

I've had 2 Durangos with the 5.7L and really liked them both. Other than a water pump that failed at 33kmiles on the R/T, I never had any issues with them. And the water pump was not difficult to replace.

I can identify....I've never held onto the same primary vehicle for more than a year and a half before the SHO. Six plus years in and on my 2nd one. Been tempted a few times over the last couple years to move on.

Enjoy the new ride!

Same to you with your BMW? Or was it the Merc AMG you're going after?

It will be a Merc AMG. I am all about that life....and costs to live that life.

Still enjoying my '15 SHO, but it's getting company. The wife bought a BMW M850i xdrive convertible last November. Like I told my grandson: Yes, it's fast, No you can't drive it! He already grins when I hit the gas in the SHO. Also, I needed a tow vehicle for my newly ordered boat, so I ordered an F150 regular cab, 6ft bed, XLT with a 5.0l, 3:73's, and 4wd. Can you say W-H-I-P-P-L-E?
Enjoy the Durango, if I wasn't such a Ford guy, that would have been my boat towing choice.

Unibody towing? **** to Tha nah nah nah! Ultra sketch. You realize dodge Durango is also lowest reliability in its class? Yikes! Not to mention dozens of electrical issues.... Erm.

I mean I can see buying a dodge if you need to lighten your wallet... Er actually I can't ever see a reason.

Congrats on the new purchases and may you always enjoy them!
