Is anyone planning on attending the Auto Interest event at Gingerman Raceway over Memorial Day weekend. $160 for 1 day or $260 for both with early registration discount.

http://autointerests.com/

I went last year. Goodtime. Clockwise on Saturday and counterclockwise on Sunday. It is like a different track counterclockwise. Hope to see some SHO folks there.

I will be there as always. If I can get some tires for my SHO it will actually see track time. The wife hates taking the SHO on long trips tho since I don't have a/c and she dislikes leather. O well....

Thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to check if registration was open. I will be going! I'll be getting the 90 out in early April to do some final checks and put new brakes and tires on it.
I'm also about a third of the way through that book too! Thanks!

Awesome!! I will have another SHO to try and catch!!

It just got posted on their website recently. The early registration discount is through April 26th. I will be camping on site Friday and Saturday night.

Anyone is welcome to come hang out, even if they don't wanna drive/ride along.

I have heard good things about Mid-Ohio. Right now, for me, I am looking at seat time. I have plans to start hitting a few different tracks in the area probably starting next season. I think there are a number of them within about 3 hrs of home.

Why tow? Just drive it.

Plus, gas is 3.29 here, so you are looking at closer to $385 in fuel.
Z06 would only cost about $170 in fuel, thus making the track day almost free. At least that is a good way to justify it!

Gas is currently fluctuating between 3.50 and 3.75 here......if I am going to tow far enough to make northeast Ohio....err, I mean mid Ohio, I'd rather go to road america. Granted, nothing of mine will be ready for action by June anyways.....if I am bored that weekend, I might convoy up to just hang out. I can cook a pretty good frozen pizza on a camp fire. :angelnot:

Im interested to see what kind of MPG my new tow vehicle will get. I picked up an '88 E250 with a 7.3 IDI Desiel. So far I have gotten 16mpg hwy on my last unloaded trip. Not too bad for a barn with wheels and a 3 speed auto trans (c6). Also needed a new IP and injectors 25K miles ago. With some maintinance, a few mods and the addition of a GV overdrive I am hoping to hit 20+mpg unloaded on the hwy and in the 15-17 mpg range when towing the SHO to the track.

fear of being stranded 1200miles from home. even if something simple broke the vette can only carry so much. Defiantly possible and doable but I would be always thinking... wat if. Plus I have the trailer and truck. Too bad gas isnt cheaper or the track wasnt closer. (or events in the northeast be cheaper!)

Im planning on going to NJMP march 16 and would love to go back to VIR late spring/summer. Might get to go to pocono in april too. I really hope to do more events this year.

If you guys know anyone interested in HPDE, put the word out. plenty of spots open and early reg always better pricing.

Registered!! Any other takers??? $265 for a 2 days of track time....plus if they get enough cars they are gonna have a hog roast and a keg trackside on Saturday night. Even if your not driving, it would be cool to hang out with some people. I am always willing to have on track passangers (as long as the Club will allow it).

Hog roast and keg? I'd sign up again if I could :dribble:

Yep, sent an email out saying 70 cars will get a hog roast....80 cars ='s hog roast and a keg.

Also added a Mid Ohio day to the Gingerman Labor Day event. Saturday and Sunday at Gingerman....then a caravan to Mid-Ohio for Monday. Of course there is an extra charge for the Mid-Ohio Labor Day event.
