Very exciting, spring approaches fast here in New England and I'm planning to get one more good year out of my SHO, so I ordered a new (remanned) rack (A1 Cardone from Auto Parts Warehouse which arrived in the mail today)...all new ALSFB's from SHOSource and also two new Magnaflow mufflers from SHOSource which I should have in hand next week.

And I found a local shop willing & able to do all the installation work for a very reasonable price.

:woo-hoo:

Schweet.

I'm almost done making my bushings... wanna bet on who gets them installed first?? :naughty:

J/K, I'm sure you will. I still have to get myself a clutch and maybe a ZF rack before I'll be ready to drop the subframe.

I'm also thinking about adding a front strut tower brace. Are they worth the price assuming I get a high quality one?

Add "getting a new (used) subframe" to this list because mine is toast, or better put...RUST. Oh well, car should run great when it's all done, until the next thing goes wrong...:nut:

UPDATE:

Well the SHO will be ready for pickup today, they are just warpping up installing the two new Magnaflow XL Turbo mufflers I got from SHOSource, I hope I like the way they sound. But really, could they possibly be any worse than two old rusty leaky stock mufflers from 1993 with 196K on them? Probably not.

In the end, the subframe needed to be replaced so that had to be done and we were able to find a really good looking one from a local junkyard, no rust and it looked to be really solid. I guess time will tell. But I have the ALSFBs on there from SHOSource and cannot wait to see how they feel and perform.

As for the rack, the remanned a1Cardone rack I got from autowarehouse.com was defective out of the box, luckily the mech noticed before it went in, so I returned it for full refund and we got a remanned rack from a local parts place (same price) that looked good, of course we'll see how it goes.

...and of course it's getting an alignment and I had them change the oil too, it had been like 2 and a half K since my last one, so...

Really looking forward to going for a nice drive. :woo-hoo:

No more clunks! :hail:

Very solid feeling front end.

Even seems to shift better. My 1-2 shift which used to be hard is much less so now.

The exhaust "roars" at higher RPMs, kinda quiet at idle but with a nice subtle growl.

Bring on spring and summer, I'm ready! :omgsho:
