i did a search and couldn't easily find the answers to these so i figure i would ask them.
I will have my Shoshop SS catless y-pipe by the end of this week and installing it this weekend.
Living up in the rust belt i know the bolts will be rusted on and i already have PB blaster for that. will i need new mounting hardware like clamps and nuts and bolts or can i use the old stuff or will it kome in the kit (wow thats a huge run one sentence). I will be reusing my o2 sensors because they are less than a year old and i assume the bolt right back into place on the new pipe. If there is any info that i will need regaurding this install it would be appreciated thanks

Start now with a PB blaster. Just squeaze under there and hit all the nuts and studs with PB for a couple of days at the end of the day. You won't need any new clamps. If the studs don't strip or break then you'll be fine reusing them. I don't live in the rust belt so take the advice of anybody in the rust belt over mine, btw. Get a tube of antiseize lubricant and use a little of that on the O2 sensor threads, and the y-pipe studs and nuts. Also the y-pipe clamp nuts too. It'll stink for a while when you start the car up and it burns off. Use a glove with that stuff, you don't want it on your fingers. It gets everywhere and doesn't like to come off.

Tom's advice on the y-pipe clamps was to get them good and tight. Then run the car for a day, IIRC and then when the exhaust is hot get under there and tighten the clamp nuts again, as tight as you can get them.

SHADOW, Thanks for posting this. I just got the same set-up from them and it arrived today!.

I'm waiting to get new 02's and some other parts for an upper 60K before I start.

Shojuan, did I read somewhere here about welding the system due to others having leaks? I can have this done when I install, but don't want to if not necessary. Plus I have may not like the "new" sound without the cats and resonator? just wondering?

You won't like the sound without cats or resonator! Pretty raspy. I oughta know, I,too, bought the ShoShop catless stainless steel Y pipe. Great quality, by the way.
You will need to replace the resonator, but not with another resonator. Get a bullet style stainless steel muffler. That way you will have a quiet sound when cruising, but an agressive sound when getting on the throttle.
Also, get all stainless steel clamps, bolts, nuts, etc. You will not regret this small expense when you have to do anything with them. JC Whitney has them. Use a muffler cement type stuff like Walker makes for use when clamping mufflers together - the stuff seals the joint well. And yes, retighten everything a few days later.
You may find that you can use regular gas because removing the cats allows lower combustion chamber temperatures. I also felt that torque and hp increased throughout the powerband.

You got yours already?? I was expecting mine by now. You would think Fed-ex would deliver within a week to WA from CA.

yes, the rasp is nasty :(
I need to look in to replacing the resonater as Dave suggests.
Also, I don't recall anyone posting comments that they got a leak proof pipe WITHOUT getting it welded.

I'd have to say no leaks on mine either, no welds. Using an air wrench when tightening the clamps is perfect for an airtight seal. Just tighten them evenly. As for the exhaust manifold studs. Spray them as many times with PB Blaster as you can before you start. I'd also suggest cleaning as much of the threads as you can with a wire brush before removing the nuts. Good luck!

I am assuming that everyone that is running the catless y-pipe is not going through e-check?? Does shoshop sell y-pipes w/cats? If they do, how do those sound? I couldn't find anything on their website.
