I am in the process of installing the Gen2 center console in my 92. It seems though that the bracket for mounting the console to the dash is no where near flush with the dash. Am I missing something? Can some one help me out on this?

The 2 things needed for the swap is the gen 2 bracing that goes underneath the rear of the lidded part of the console and also the brace the mounts directly in front of the shifter. You must removed the ashtray that slides out from the gen 1 dash which is held in place by 4 10mm nuts I believe. They are kind of hard to get at, but nothing a ratcheting wrench can't handle. Other than that the console bolts up perfectly and is a **** of a lot more useful than the gen 1 variety. I added the console and also the gen 2 steering wheel/airbag and I really like the results. Good luck thumb

I have yet to see a Gen 2 where the console and dash line up correctly. On my 93, the console is angled slightly so that the left side of the cassette box sticks out slightly and the right side is actually underneath the radio thing a little. Very annoying. I think when I put the 93+ console in my 92 it actually lined up better.
