Anybody ever done this? I bring it up because Gen one Sables have a little green light that shines on the window controls on the driver's door panel. I noticed that my SHO has this connector inside the door. Why didn't Ford think about doing it on Tauruii as well? I want to do it but I don't think black interior was very popular on the Sables., I could be wrong though.

I never noticed that.
Are you sure the Taurus has the same connector?
Could you adapt the light to the Taurus panel?

If your really want the window buttons to light up, you could take them out, cut out what you want to light up, and then fill it with epoxy. Then with a light behind it, it will light up.

I would assume that the connector is the same. No, I'm pretty sure I need the door panel from a Sable. The door pulls are different, the Sable one extends over the window controls.

personally i perfer them. they look much better in my opinion. ignore the wood trim that will be covered in either carbon fiber vinyl, or i've thought about brush polishing them..

actually, depending on the quality of the woodgrain, I think it looks good...
I agree that wood grain looks good, just not good on a SHO, lol. IMO, I like the darker burlwood and not that early lighter stuff .

Here is the light that shines on the window buttons:
Window20button20light
And here is a Sable door panel installed:
Front20sable20door20panel

My black Sable door panels were upholstered with cloth when I got them so I reupholstered them with black perforated vinyl to match my 1st gen interior.

Found a black sable!

Well, I was at the new Pick and Pull yesterday and saw a black on black 90 or 91 Sable. Yay!! I can't remember if it was a GS or LS but it had the GS seats so that's probablly what it is. And yes, it has the green light above the window buttons. Now, as Mitchell (jelloslug) said, he reupolstered his door panels to match the seats. But, since I have the leather trimmed seats, I think I will leave the panels the way they are. IMO, the preforrated panels look funny on SHO's with the leather trimmed seats. I was thinking just get the panel for the driver's door since that's the only one thta has the light, plus mine is cracked and doesn't fit right anymore. What would you guys do?

I would grab them up NOW before they just crush the car or something. If it was an LS Sable the upper panel where the door lock is should be fake wood. If it was a GS it should be trimmed with the same material as the lower panel. Mine came from a GS and were trimmed in cloth (it was not the same style and the 50/50 seats though). Just curious: if your SHO is full leather does it not have perforated leather seat like any other 1st gen? That's why I used the perfored material in mine, so it would match the seats.

NO, mine has the 50/50 seats. Depends on how much the want for all 4 panels, who knows maybe they'll give me a deal.
