From what I understand it is the gen 3 SLO subframe used for the subframe upgrade to the gen 1 and 2.

the Gen3 SHO subframe has motor mounts significantly different from the slo subframe, and it is not conducive to rework to fit on Gen1/2 cars.

you should have no trouble locating a Gen3 slo subframe at a junk yard, and there are a couple threads here detailing what to do to modify it to work on your 90.

The GEN4 takes the same control arms as the GEN3? Good to know.

I assume the ZF rack mounts right up?

Haven't tried it , but good chances that it will. The whole suspension setup in a GEN4 is basically the same (except the coils and struts (valves inside must be different). They look the same but part numbers on rockauto are different.
