Nothing happens when key turned to start position. Starter works fine if 12v
applied directly to solenoid on the starter. The question is:
The Helms manual refers to a "starter relay", in addition to the starter
solenoid. However the schematic shows no such thing. Is there such a thing? and
where is it located? The schematic shows a line from the clutch switch to the
solenoid. At the solenoid, this wire is fairly heavy, 14 ga. or so. At the
clutch switch, the wire appears to be only 22 ga. That makes me think there must
be a relay somewhere, but where? and why isn't it shown on the schematic?
Thanks
Harry

the starter relay, fuel pump relays, and others are located right above your engine fans in the engine compartment....

its all incorporated into one large relay center... which is dumb....
i have not found or seen individual relays
when i looked on all data it had told me to refer to that giant cluster. It is also known as the integrated engine compartment control cluster.

You can just replace the solenoid. Its attached to the starter and 2 screws will remove it. 5 min job to swap when you have the starter out. I was able to get one a few years ago for $14. Now if you remove the little plug or terminal wire that is attached to it and check to make sure your getting 12v there when key is turned to start would be a good idea. Because if your not its something else.
