How difficult & expensive is it to replace a Gen 1 (91) wiper / turn stalk? I understand that it can be serviced, but it feels like something's broken inside. Thanks!

Fred,

It's about a $70 part through Ford, but you can get them through auto parts stores for around $50. To install it, you have to unscrew the tilt lever and the three Philips head screws on the underside of the plastic clamshells on the steering column. There are two small Torx screws holding the switch to the column and two electrical connectors. I posted a more detailed procedure in the Forum, so you may want to search on "multifunction."
