This thread is kinda dead...........buuuuuut........if every person that is interested in having these made for our cars emailed or called the company, we might get somewhere. :type: :thumb:

Just do what John says... I think that is our best bet.. If every body that is interested calls e-mails or contacts the company maybe we can show them there is a market for our tail lights.. :naughty:

Welp, got a wild hair up my **** and contacted the company...here's their reply, verbatim:

Hi Tim,

I wish stuff was made for your car. The manufacturers sometimes don't
make things based on how well they think it might sell. It generally
takes $100k to make a light and about 3000-5000 units to break even.
Manufacturers usually look to see how fast they can recover their
investment. If they have to wait too many months or years to recover, it won't
be made. We pass along information to them and they do htheir own
statistics to see how many cars are still out there, how many enthusiasts
make up a percentage of them (as they soccer mom most likely won't buy
them), and return on investment. So, there's quite a bit that goes into
it. It's why you see the most popular cars and trucks get them first (and
even get second and third generations made for them).

So, IMHO, it doesn't appear that we're gonna get em. I don't know if anyone else has heard different, but that's what my thoughts on this is.

Just do this...

I am currently making my own clear tail lights. It's easy and anyone with patience can make them if they want to try. First go to an automotive or home improovment store and get all the items I list. Now on to the good stuff. Just take the lights out and smash them in. (Fun Part) After that clean them up with a rag and water. Use your dremmel tool to get out the excess plastic lense and the remaining glue. Then get some spray paint. Chrome is good (5 or so coats, let each dry) or high gloss black. That is what I am using. Make sure it's at least 65 degrees when you paint. Next make your own designs (circles or other shapes) with red reflectors. You know this kind of stuff... http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?categorycode=3166&mfrcode=CSM&mfrpartnumber=94449 Or get a sign shop to cut vinyl graphics. I am getting a shop to cut SHO in red reflective vinyl. I will be putting this on the sides of the tail lights so there is reflection from the side. When you finnish the shapes cut a hole just big enough for your bulb to get through. I recomend using red LED light bulbs. I am also putting in a bunch of single red LED bulbs around the reflector in a circle. This will look great. Glue them to the back of the light housing. This is kinda tricky since it is not flat. Take your time. Then just get out your Plexiglas, (yes I spelled it right.) otherwise known as polycarbonate. Cut it to just a bit bigger than the size of your lights. You might want to consult a pro on this matter. Polycarbonate is very fragile when being cut. (Better safe than sorry.) Preheat your oven to 300-400 degrees. Stick in the Plexiglas and watch it carefully. Should only take about 30-50 seconds for it to become soft. Don't keep it in too long because it can also warp. You can also heat it up with a hair dryer. Have the housing handy so you can bend the Plexiglas over it to form the shape. Don't touch the surface cause you will put finger prints on it. Then get out the dremmel again and cut those grooves into the Plexiglas very carefully. Or again have a prof. fabrocate it for you. Place the Plexiglas over the housing to make sure it fits. If it doesn't then get some more Plexiglas and start over. If it does then get out the clear epoxy and glue it tight. Sand off anything extra. When you hook your lights up you will need some resistors so your "Lamp Out" light stays off. I am not an expert on electronics so I would consult a prof. on this matter. If all goes well and you have the patience you should have some kick @$$ tail lights. I will post some pictures soon when I get them finnished. Hope this solves all your problems with the clear tail lights.

i think upgraded headlights would be a bit more popular than altezza tails... something with projectors because then it would be easier to retrofit HID's :thumb:
