Gasket Questions!

Hey All,

Quick question on gaskets- replacing my water pump and CPS.

I searched, and the recommended gasket set is the Felpro set ES70425- (listed on Rock Auto).

Advance Auto has a Felpro "Water Crossover Mounting Set" ES70426.

Does anyone know if the Advance kit has the the proper O-rings to change on the water pump to engine gasket and the carry over tube?

Yup just did mine works great.U get 2 o rings for the crossover tube so u have to remove it.Then u get the o ring for WP to block and the 2 flat gaskets good luck.I also just got the intake manifold kit it works perfect also gotta love felpro.

So, I've got the front end tore apart and the water pump out.
There is a seal around the crossover tube.
I did not find an O-ring in the back of the water pump housing (that connects into the crossover tube). Can I assume this o-ring was omitted the last time the water pump was replaced? I'm surprised there weren't any leaks if this was missing.

The o-ring that goes from wp to engine was garbage once I removed the wp.

Also, anyone know the size of the seal that goes around the xover tube?

The O ring should be at the end of the cross over tube and not in the water pump housing. For installation wet the new one with some antifreeze and slip it over the end of the crossover tube and leave it just before where the tube has the small bulge.

Yep, I see it now- it was on the end of the xtube, but it is so flat and crappy it looked like a flat seal wrapped around- not alot "o" in it lol. Thanks for all the help everyone!

I ordered the Felpro gasket kit ES70426- question- is the oring for the pump housing block to the engine the same size as the oring for the crossover tube? The bottom o-ring was complete trash and I can't use it to compare sizes.
