Hiya,
I'm considering replacing my fuel injectors on my car, due to the fact that it misfires(read my other topic if you want to know). I checked on shoshop and it said that I can get them cleaned, and that it'll be cheaper than just buying new ones. Anybody know if I could clean them myself or would i have to take it to a special place to get them cleaned specialy? Any tips, thanks.

There are places out there that will clean them for you. I went the Sho Shop route myself, so I never got around to locating another specific vendor.

A web search will probably yield good results. Also, a high performance forum/discussion group would probably have alot of options readily available.

You might want to actually verify that an injector is the problem before taking the trouble to remove them and have them serviced. If you do end up having them cleaned http://www.cruzinperformance.com/ will do them for about 1/2 the price of SHO Shop.

FWIW, bigger injectors will do nothing to enhance performance unless you plan on installing a supercharger. This has been discussed countless times...

Don't throw money at a problem until you know what the problem is.

Scott,
I dont know if you noticed, but i'm kinda running out of options. Half of the time that the car is missing, rpm is at 1000 and the check engine light isnt even on. The other half it is at 500 rpm and the light is on. I was just going to clean the fuel injectors and if that doesnt fix anything, i'll sell the car.
If you dont think that's right, tell me what you would do in my position because i'm all out of options.
