Just changed the fuel injectors and spark plugs on my 2010 sho, believed my #4 injector was bad. But it still locks up when I try to start it. pull the #4 plug and try to start it, fuel shoots up like 8 feet in the air (not an exaggeration) but the car will start. Put the plug back in and it locks up again. Anyone have an idea on what could be wrong? Could I have bought another bad injector and just so happen to put it in the same cylinder? Or something else?

I'm not familiar (yet) with the fuel injectors in these cars, but it sounds like the PCM is grounding the injector input 100% of the time, leaving it wide open. Or, the wire is crushed somewhere and shorted to ground. Are there any codes that indicate circuit failure for that injector?

Disconnect the electrical connector for that injector, and see if the fuel dump goes away.

BE CAREFUL! Hydrolocking is bad - and your oil is sure to have a lot of gas in it by now.

The pcm runs these injectors both power and ground. Unlike port fuel injectors they dont run on 12volts. The pcm bumps up the voltage to operate.

I agree with the above, time to start checking circuits.

If you want to play it safe, that fuel injector can be electrically disconected, leave the coil connected and you can get by with the dead hole for a short trip.

These are high pressure fuel systems, from 500 psi on up. Definitely would not want to be in the line of fire.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll definitely look into it. I have a dd so I won't be needing to drive it anywhere until it's fixed. I'll post the results if I ever figure it out, might be awhile though between starting a new job and trying to get into college.
