OK, I've heard of a lot of borrowing of parts to mod up our SHO's- Cobra brakes, etc.

I read where someone mentioned overdrilling the Cobra rotors to use on the SHO spindles for the brake upgrade. My question is this, what are the chances that a 5x4.5 wheel could be overdrilled the same way to fit on the 5x4.25 spindle? I have heard of it being done before and I am sure that the alloy wheel would be much easier to drill out than the rotor.

Another question becomes, does anyone have any experience with mounting wheels that wide on a SHO? The wheels in question are the 2003 Cobra wheels (17x9!) -Pretty Wide, I know!

Thanks for any help or knowledge!

Overdrilling rims is unsafe as it compromises structure, and 17x9's will either hit the strut or stick out and hit the fender on a 3G without fender flares. frown

Wouldn't risk it with a wheel. Why not just get the SVT T-bird cobra wheels?

Because this is the '03 Cobra wheel- very sweet, clean and mean look!

I can't imagine that 1/8" oversizing would hurt too much except that the loading wouldn't be centralized in each opening.

Chances are I won't risk the rims, car and fitment.
