front suspension bushing repair

i have a 94 mtx and i want to know if there is a better replacemnt bushing for the lower control arm or if there is a urathane replacemnt for it? can it even be replaced just wanted to know.

plus is rock auto the best place to get all of the front suspension bushing? and does anybody know the part #'s for the tpr bushing sets

What one do you speak of? The one that holds it to the sub frame or the one that goes on the rod. The rod one is quite avail. I am not sure about the other one though.

yea the one that is the lower control arm with ball joint the one that conects to the subframe

I'm assuming this refers to the bushing at the opposite end of the ball joint that is pinned at the subframe..... I could not find one.

I am posting this for future reference by others.


The lower control arm bushing is a steel encased bushing that is pressed into/through the end of the lower control arm opposite the ball joint end.

The strut rod bushing is the larger rubber bushing that is pressed into/through the central portion of the lower control arm favoring the ball joint end.

Both can be replaced with the proper tools.
