first of all, happy thanksgiving everyone.

anywho, i have a 1995 atx with 136k miles and i noticed an oil leak under the car wherever i would park it. upon further inspection, i realized i have a bad leak coming from the front main seal.

unfortunately, this is my only mode of transportation and i am not mechanically inclined to do this job myself so its going to the ford dealership tomorrow.

is there anything i should have them look for while doing the replacement? i would like to **** 2 birds with 1 stone if at all possible.

thanks shoforum

I would do the entire front 60K, since they will be taking most of the front apart.

At the very least, replace the camshaft seals.

Great info available here: www.shophoenixproject.com

thanks.

would it be cheaper to do the front and upper 60k at the same time?

i bought the car at 128k miles and im not sure if the 120k was performed.

If you can find a few sho guys in the area to help with the 60K you could do it over a weekend pretty easy. Not sure how much they charge at the stealership, but Im sure it not cheap. Plus they dont have the sho specific expertise that alot of people on here do.

[email protected] I am pretty sure Nick is in the bay area and I am sure he can do it better and less expensive than Ford. I would contact him, it would be worth the drive and hotel room to have him to do the front end 60k maint rather than pay the money you would have dealer do it.

If your thinking time frame wise. The first time I did one on mine it took a weekend. I hadnt done too much automotive work before. There is a good video at shonutperformance.com that takes you through it step by step. Also a step by step at shopheonixprodject.com (sp?).
