Where should I go to get this grille I see it on some sho's. It goes between the headlights and it has the grooves on each side of the ford symbol. Any help on where to find this part and install. Thank you

Has anyone reproduced this piece using the regular front piece as the starting point? Does anyone have a closeup of this police grill. I have never seen one in real life.

Quite a few people have made their own. The usual way to tell genuine with DIY is that a real police grill will have a rounded edge for the slots, extending in a little bit. DIY will just be holes cut out of the grill.

Don't pay much for a DIY one, but a genuine one is worth quite a bit more than they used to be a few years ago.

What a nice feature. I am surprised that no company has gone into the re-production of these grills. The top slot looks a little narrower than the lower 3. It really helps that blank front panel. Has anyone ever seen a stick-on reproduction of this panel, and how does that look if there is one?

There were repops at one time i believe. Stickers.... just no. The slots enlarge as they go down.

It comes down to what you want. If you want a quality piece, bring the cash for a Ford grill or take a gamble with a repop.

Question is what are you willing to spend?

It's the grill they should have put on the SHO from the jump. They already had it in the parts bin.

It is a nicely done piece. None of the backyard hack jobs I've seen look anywhere near as nice.

There is no market for it for someone to reproduce, unless the <50 folks that would buy one would pay $400-500 (est) for it.

FWIW, I know of one on a certain '89 that's going to be junked. OTOH, the current owner has been talking about stripping and junking it for the last 5 years.

I am not surprised the stickies did not look so good. Every now and again you see something done that way that really looks good, but it is rare. What a shame the original manufacturer could not have kept it going. Does anyone have a guess as to how many 89 to 91 SHO's have survived? Does 10% sound low?

There is a carbon fiber police grille floating around here somewhere. It was molded off an original. I wish I never sold it.
