Ok new problem.

Front end shakes when braking. I know brake rotors are suspect but is there anything else that I need to replace while I'm doing that? Bushings, Ball joints, etc...

Thanks,

Can be your tie rod ends.

To inspect tie rod ends; lift car off of wheels, while lifted, see if the wheel/tire has play in it. The tire should be snug and tight, no movement.

You are correct about the shake in the front end during braking being due to warped rotors. Other worn parts in the front suspension can allow the amplitude of the shake to be greater, but the source of the shake is the untrue rotor surface.

You may want to consider getting a second set of rotors and having the first set resurfaced and ready to install the next time this occurs. You can help prevent this from happening by making sure that the lug nuts are not torqued more than the specified 80-105 lb-ft.

Every SHO I have ever had has had bad rotors when I first get the car. Brake rotors and outer tie rods have been the first things I have replaced on all four. Not too expensive if you can do it yourself!

Check th eball joints too. I had a vibration at speeds over 60 due to a warn ball-joint.

fixed it

Replaced the rotors and tie rod ends and that seems to have fixed the problem. I need to adjust the tie rods now I guess cause it pulls a little to the right.

Thanks for the help

Should have the car aligned by a professional. You can guess all you want but if alignment is off then youll be needing new tires soon.If you have rear drum brakes make sure wheel cylinders are not leaking and rear brakes are working properly and adjusted. If rear brakes arent in adjustment then fronts are used more to stop vehicle...which means more heat and more likely to warp again.

You don't drive a SHO, do you? No SHOs are equipped with rear drum brakes. The front brakes do the vast majority of the braking work, but you are correct, the rears need to help as much as they can.
