Sorry for possibly flooding this forum with issues and questions, but I have another issue I've been chasing after for some time now. My 93 ATX has a bit of a knock. It sounds pretty heavy, caused by hard braking/acceleration, tight turns, and any load being put on or off the front end. Its a knock that I can feel as well as hear. I'm suspecting it's subframe related? I believe I read that there was a recall on some subframe bushings, and I highly doubt the owner before me ever had that problem addressed. I do have access to a lift so if anybody could help point me in the right direction, that would be great.

you will need to get under the car and inspect: subframe bushings, control arm bushings, radius rod bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints, etc.

Had the car up on a lift today. Tie rods and ball joints are fine. The bushings I'm not sure about. A majority of them look and feel dry. Some minimal surface cracking. The only ones I'm concerned about are 2 bushings, one on driver and one on passenger side. They're mounted vertically on what I think was a control arm. No cracking but they seemed to have an excessive amount of space to move around. I'll try and get a picture up tomorrow.

^I honestly have no idea what bushing you are talking about. Haha. The control arm is the one that runs parallel with the engine. It goes from the frame to the wheel, with the ball joint on the wheel sided end. Then "tension rod" (its called so many different names) is the rod that runs perpendicular to the engine. It connects to the middle of the control arm and a mount in the front of the frame..... So upload that picture! And a general rule for bushings is that if there is a rust colored residue around it then it is wearing down.
